The COBI Lockheed-Martin SR-71 Blackbird #5891 delivers a brick-built tribute to one of the most legendary reconnaissance aircraft of the Cold War. Because of its unmatched speed and altitude, the SR-71 earned the nickname “Blackbird.” Lockheed’s famous Skunk Works division first flew the aircraft in 1964, and it quickly shattered speed and height records. Moreover, it routinely cruised above Mach 3 at altitudes exceeding 85,000 feet. Thanks to its incredible performance, it served the United States Air Force for decades as an untouchable intelligence-gathering platform.
This 1:48 scale COBI model comes with 1,374 precision-molded bricks, offering a detailed and durable replica. Measuring 25.4 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 5.1 inches high, the model commands presence in any collection. In addition, the SR-71 includes pad-printed USAF markings that guarantee historical accuracy without relying on stickers.
The cockpit canopy opens to reveal space for the included Brickfigure pilot, which adds realism to the display. Collectors will also value the accurate wing angles, detailed landing gear, and carefully designed engine housings. As a result, the aircraft looks just as sleek and powerful as the real Blackbird.
This set is designed for builders ages 8 and up, and it combines engaging construction with historical depth. Furthermore, it reflects the innovation of the Cold War conflict era, making it a centerpiece for aviation enthusiasts, military collectors, and history fans alike.

1 review for COBI Lockheed-Martin SR-71 Blackbird #5891
Jaycob (verified owner) –
A truly remarkable set from Cobi! The size and amount of detail in this set is insane. Cobi did an amazing job creating this aircraft. The angles and shapes were perfectly captured with the help of some specially molded pieces. This definitely isn’t an easy aircraft to recreate but Cobi did it flawlessly. It’s very sturdy (except for the tiles on the side) and the new stand not only looks better than the old stand designs, but also works better. If it’s not on the stand, the landing gear looks awesome but also works very well. Definitely one of my favorite sets! I would recommend for any aviation enthusiasts! This set looks so cool with all my other 1:48 aircraft
