P-47 Thunderbolt #5737

No one’s WWII aircraft collection can be complete without the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.  We are so excited to see the new P-47 roll off Cobi’s production line!  This has been such an anticipated set.  The P-47 was nicknamed “The Jug” because of its “milk jug” profile when you look at it sideways.  This multi-role aircraft was a workhorse of the European theater of the second world war.  The Thunderbolt was huge compared to most other fighters of its time, but with its huge 2600 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800-59B twin-row radial engine it was not to be underestimated in its capabilities.  With 8 .50 caliber browning wing-mounted machine guns, this terror of the skies struck fear into German columns.  Jug pilots reported that kubelwagens would roll sideways when they were hit during strafing runs.  Make sure you space for this excellent set in you collection as this will be coming soon.
