A Tank Steeped in History
The real Panzer VIII Maus was a behemoth designed to dominate the battlefields of World War II. Nicknamed “Mouse” for its size, this super-heavy tank boasted the thickest armor ever fielded on a tank, designed to withstand even the most powerful Allied weaponry. However, the Maus’s immense weight and complex engineering plagued it with mechanical issues. Only two prototypes were ever completed before the war ended, making the Maus a fascinating footnote in armored history.

The set I got was missing a small but crucial bag of blocks. Received amazing assistance from customer support. Other than that hiccup, the Pz. VIII Maus truly is a monstrous set. If you are looking to get a big centerpiece for your Cobi/LEGO collection, I highly recommend this set! The brick quality is top notch, and comparable with LEGO’s bricks. I found it quite easy to swap certain parts for LEGO bits. The only thing that could have made it slightly better is if Cobi was still in possession of the World of Tanks copyright. (That way, you would have had some German decals and inscriptions to really sell that alternative World War II aesthetic… and the WoT Premium Time code.)
