A Detailed 1:32 WWII Fighter for Display

The COBI Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-4 #5775 delivers much more than a recognizable silhouette. Its larger 1:32 scale gives COBI room to reproduce the wide radial-engine cowling, short nose, broad landing gear, cockpit, and distinctive wings of the original aircraft.

Specific features include:

  • 390-piece 1:32-scale construction with historically inspired markings.
  • Rotating propeller for a more realistic aircraft display.
  • Retractable landing gear that can be positioned for flight or ground display.
  • Movable ailerons for different flight configurations.
  • Opening cockpit with room for the included Walter Nowotny brick pilot.
  • SC 250 bomb and additional ordnance for a combat-equipped appearance.
  • Green Heart JG 54 markings inspired by Jagdgeschwader 54 “Grünherz.”
  • Black display base, transparent flight support, and identification plaque for an elevated museum-style presentation.
  • Durable printed details designed to resist fading during normal use.

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in World War II

Designed by Kurt Tank, the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 entered operational service in August 1941. Its speed, acceleration, roll rate, rugged construction, and heavy armament quickly made it a serious opponent to Allied fighters. Early Fw 190s proved particularly effective against the RAF’s Spitfire Mk V until improved Allied fighters began appearing.

The A-4 variant appeared in 1942 and retained the BMW 801 D-2 engine and basic armament arrangement of the preceding A-3. However, the Fw 190 platform continued to evolve into fighter-bomber, reconnaissance, long-range attack, and specialized interceptor versions. Ultimately, more than 20,000 Fw 190 aircraft were produced during the war.

The markings on this COBI model connect it with Jagdgeschwader 54 “Grünherz,” a fighter unit that served extensively on the Eastern Front after taking part in the opening phase of Operation Barbarossa. JG 54 later transitioned from the Bf 109 to the Fw 190, and Walter Nowotny became closely associated with the aircraft while serving with the unit.

Build More Fw 190 History

Collectors who enjoy this larger 1:32 aircraft may also want the smaller COBI Focke-Wulf FW 190 F-8 #5871 from MilitaryBricks.com. The later F-8 emphasizes the ground-attack evolution of the Fw 190 family and makes an excellent companion aircraft for comparing two different stages of the design.

Whether displayed on its landing gear or mounted on the included flight stand, the COBI Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-4 #5775 offers WWII aviation enthusiasts an impressive combination of aircraft history, mechanical detail, and collectible presentation.
