The Bismarck was a marvel of 1940s maritime technology, displacing over 50,000 tons when fully loaded.1 Its short but explosive career defined the naval warfare of the era.
Operation Rheinübung: In May 1941, the Bismarck embarked on a mission to break out into the Atlantic and disrupt Allied supply chains.
The Battle of the Denmark Strait: On May 24, 1941, the Bismarck engaged the British fleet.3 In a stunning display of gunnery, a shell from the Bismarck struck the HMS Hood, causing a massive explosion that sank the pride of the Royal Navy in minutes.
The Final Pursuit: Following the sinking of the Hood, the Royal Navy mobilized every available asset to hunt down the Bismarck. A fateful torpedo hit from a Swordfish biplane jammed the ship’s rudder, leading to its final stand on May 27, 1941.
This COBI set is engineered for durability and historical accuracy, utilizing pad-printed markings rather than stickers to ensure the details never fade.
Interactive Design: Features rotating gun turrets and moving propellers for dynamic display.
Scale Accuracy: Perfectly scaled at 1:700, making it an ideal companion to other WWII naval vessels.
Premium Quality: Fully compatible with other leading interlocking block brands.
Museum Quality Detail: Pad-printed insignias and deck details for a realistic finish.
