Historical Background: The Silent Sentinel of Pearl Harbor
Launched in 1915, the USS Arizona was a “super-dreadnought” that served as a symbol of American naval might. While she spent much of her early career in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, her most significant chapter began when she was transferred to the Pacific Fleet in 1940.
On the morning of December 7, 1941, during the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, the Arizona was struck by a series of armor-piercing bombs. A catastrophic explosion in her forward magazine caused the ship to sink rapidly, resulting in the loss of 1,177 crew members. Today, she remains at the bottom of the harbor as a powerful memorial, and this COBI model serves as a tangible way to honor that legacy and study the engineering of a bygone era.

A great product, and a good price! This set is a great decoration for my dresser next to my other cobi sets. I would recommend, just make sure to get the right amount of money

I haven’t bought this one yet, but I’m fourth generation navy starting with my great grandpa who thankfully survived the Arizona! I was so young but what I remember is that he’ was one of if not the proudest men I’ve ever met

This one is small (2ft long) compared to the newer battleships, but putting this one next to the Bismarck gives a great visual reference to how these giants evolved and grew.
It was a very fun build. The directions clearly show where to choose to make either the Arizona or Pennsylvania. There are 6 bags of pieces. Bags 1-4 build the hull and deck, Bag 5 builds the superstructure and some of the deck details, and #6 builds the guns and the stand.
There are a few challenging bits, getting the masts lining up correctly, but it didn’t take too long. It took me about 8 hours doing a bag at a time over the weekend.
I was late to the Cobi family, so I missed the Iowas, the Yamato and the Enterprise. We need to have the Texas, The North Carolina Class and the South Dakota Class… and some cruisers, too!
