Description

The new Cobi Sturmgeschutz III AUSF.G is a 1;35 scale German tank destroyer from WWII.  This set includes movable tracks, gun and hatches.  This 631 piece set is also designed with a great cammo scheme.

History:

The Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G was a tank destroyer produced by Germany during World War II. It was the most-produced variant of the StuG III, with over 10,000 vehicles built. The Ausf. G was armed with a long-barreled 75mm StuK 40 L/48 gun, which gave it excellent anti-tank capabilities. It also had a sloped front glacis plate, which made it more difficult to penetrate by enemy fire.

The Ausf. G was introduced in 1942, and saw widespread use on all fronts. It was particularly effective against the Soviet Union’s T-34 and KV-1 tanks. The Ausf. G was also used in the defense of Germany during the final years of the war.

The StuG III was a highly effective tank destroyer, and its low profile and powerful gun made it a difficult target to hit. It was also relatively cheap to produce, which made it a cost-effective weapon. The Ausf. G was one of the most important German armored fighting vehicles of World War II, and it played a major role in the outcome of the war.

Here are some of the specifications of the Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G:

  • Weight: 25 tons
  • Length: 23 feet
  • Width: 9 feet
  • Height: 8 feet
  • Engine: 12-cylinder Maybach HL 120 TRM petrol engine
  • Top speed: 25 mph
  • Range: 125 miles
  • Armament: 75mm StuK 40 L/48 gun
  • Crew: 4

The Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G was a valuable asset to the German army, and it helped to turn the tide of the war in the early years of the conflict. It was a well-designed and effective tank destroyer, and it played a major role in the German victory in the Battle of Kursk.
