Cobi has outdone itself with this new 1:12 Scale PzKpfw VI “TIGER 131”. This monstrous set has amazing detail built into it. You will enjoy constructing the detailed interior of the turret and hull including the controls, gauges, and 88mm gun. The engine compartment also has incredible detail along with the astonishing working undercarriage suspension. Cobi has molded special new tracks that match the tracks of the real tiger. This set will be an incredibly challenging build with almost 8000 bricks making it the largest-sized set Cobi has released thus far. This tiger stands at 9.4″ high and 27.6″ long and is weighing in at over 13 pounds! This set is an absolute must for Cobi collectors and will be available in September 2023. A little history of “Tiger 131”
Tiger 131 is a German Tiger I heavy tank captured by the British 48th Royal Tank Regiment in Tunisia during World War II. It is currently the only operational Tiger I in the world and is on display at The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, England.
Tiger 131 was built in 1942 and was first deployed in North Africa in January 1943. It was assigned to the 501st Heavy Panzer Battalion and saw action in the Battle of Kasserine Pass. On April 24, 1
943, Tiger 131 was knocked out by a Churchill tank of the 48th Royal Tank Regiment. The crew abandoned the tank and it was captured by the British.
Tiger 131 was repaired and shipped to England for evaluation. It was displayed in various locations to raise wartime morale an
d was also used for training purposes. In 1951, Tiger 131 was restored to running condition and has been on display at The Tank Museum ever since.
Tiger 131 is a significant historical artifact and is a valuable resource for historians and tank enthusiasts. It is a reminder of the technological and tactical advances that were made during World War II and is a testament to the courage and determination of the soldiers who fought in that conflict.
