A Giant Built for Tank Hunting

The real Jagdtiger was developed using a modified Tiger II chassis. It carried the powerful 12.8 cm Pak 44 L/55 gun inside a heavily armored, fixed fighting compartment. This combination gave it tremendous firepower and the ability to engage Allied tanks from long distances.

However, its extreme weight also created mechanical and transportation problems. Breakdowns, fuel shortages and difficult terrain often proved just as dangerous as enemy fire.

Only two German heavy anti-tank battalions received the Jagdtiger. The vehicle entered combat during Operation Nordwind in early 1945. Jagdtigers also fought during the final battles inside Germany, including engagements near Paderborn and Sennelager.

Detailed Inside and Out

This large 1:28 scale model offers much more than an impressive exterior. Removable armor sections reveal the crew positions, fighting compartment and engine area. The detailed engine assembly can also be removed and displayed separately.

Working tracks allow the completed vehicle to roll, while the long main gun can be positioned for display. Opening hatches, exterior equipment and printed markings add even more realism.

Three included figures represent a tank destroyer commander and two crew members. The set also includes binoculars, weapons, tools and other accessories. A printed display plate identifies the vehicle and completes the presentation.
