The COBI MIG-29 NATO Fulcrum set #5928 turns an unmistakable Cold War fighter into a compact 40-piece display model. Built at 1:300 scale, this miniature aircraft features the MiG-29’s swept wings, twin-tail profile, dual-engine configuration, clear cockpit canopy, and Polish Air Force markings.
Because the finished aircraft is only 2.76 inches long, it fits easily on a desk, bookshelf, or crowded aviation display. The included black stand holds the fighter in a dynamic in-flight position and identifies the aircraft by name. Best of all, the model uses durable printed markings instead of stickers.

Although this is a small set, it includes several recognizable details:
The gray finish and Polish checkerboards make this version especially distinctive. Moreover, its small scale makes it an excellent companion for other miniature aircraft. Pair it with the COBI Top Gun F-14 Tomcat #5923 to create a compact collection of famous Cold War-era fighters.
Assembly is quick and approachable. Therefore, this set works well as a small gift, an introductory build, or an affordable addition to a larger military aviation collection. It also offers enough recognizable detail to interest experienced collectors who simply need one more aircraft on the shelf.
The real Mikoyan MiG-29 first flew in 1977 and entered Soviet service during the 1980s. NATO assigned it the reporting name “Fulcrum.” Designed primarily for air-superiority and interception missions, the fighter combined high speed with exceptional maneuverability and short-field operating capability.
Poland began receiving MiG-29s in 1989, just as the Cold War was approaching its end. After Poland joined NATO in 1999, its Soviet-designed fighters became part of the alliance’s air-defense system. Polish MiG-29s later participated in NATO Baltic Air Policing missions, helping protect allied airspace over Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
This history gives the model an unusual identity. It represents an aircraft designed to oppose NATO that later flew in NATO service wearing Polish markings. That makes the COBI MIG-29 NATO Fulcrum more than a simple miniature—it captures a fascinating transition in European military aviation.
Set #5928 delivers the shape and character of the famous Fulcrum without demanding a large display area or a long building session. The printed Polish markings, clear canopy, labeled stand, and recognizable twin-tail silhouette give this little aircraft plenty of personality.
Whether displayed alone or alongside other 1:300 aircraft, it is an affordable way to add an important modern fighter to your collection.
