The COBI ORP Dzik Polish Submarine #4864 may be small, but this little hunter brings serious WWII patrol energy. At 1:300 scale, it is compact, sharp-looking, and perfect for collectors who enjoy naval history without needing a whole shipyard shelf.
ORP Dzik, meaning “Wild Boar” in Polish, was a British-built U-class submarine transferred to the Polish Navy during World War II. She served in the Mediterranean, where Polish submarine crews earned a hard-fighting reputation. Alongside ORP Sokół, Dzik became part of the famous Polish “Terrible Twins,” a nickname that fit their aggressive patrol record.
This model captures Dzik’s bold red-and-blue hull, compact U-class shape, raised conning tower, rigging line, deck gun, twin propellers, and display base. Additionally, the set includes printed elements, so the key markings have a clean, durable finish. The display stand also gives the finished submarine a sharp museum-style look.
Historically, ORP Dzik took part in dangerous wartime patrols during the Mediterranean campaign. She operated against Axis shipping lanes and supported Allied naval pressure in a highly contested theater. In addition, Dzik participated during the wider period of Allied operations around Sicily and Italy, where submarines helped disrupt enemy movement and supply routes.
For builders, this set is a quick and satisfying mission. However, for collectors, it carries plenty of historical weight. Therefore, it makes a great companion to other WWII naval sets, Polish military models, and 1:300 scale warship displays.
Compact, colorful, and packed with history, the COBI ORP Dzik Polish Submarine #4864 is ready to dive into your collection.
